Mission
The Mission of the Salt Lake County Division of Community Resources and Development is to make a positive difference in people's lives by developing and implementing strategies and services to increase the quality of life and living in Salt Lake County neighborhoods.
Services
Many of our programs and services aim to assist and improve the conditions of economically disadvantaged populations, such as refugees, working poor, homeless, and ethnic and cultural minorities.
Many of our programs, however, do not provide services directly to Salt Lake County residents. Instead, we administer and channel federal funds to other Salt Lake County agencies, municipal governments, public and private social service agencies, businesses, and other organizations.
In summary, our services include:
- Expanding the supply of adequate, affordable housing for people who earn a low or moderate income.
- Revitalizing, upgrading and beautifying neighborhoods.
- Educating people about how to utilize their resources for maximum benefit.
- Addressing the social, vocational, and academic needs of low-income and academically at-risk youth and young adults.
- Providing funding to private, non-profit social service agencies in order to lessen demand on government services.
- Promoting and cultivating citizen participation and leadership in local government and the community.
We hope that this website will assist you in locating and accessing needed services and community resources.
